Dan Jenks

Dan Jenks retired from the Los Angeles Police Department after 35 years of service. The majority of his career was spent as a Detective. Mr. Jenks worked a variety of assignments including undercover narcotics, supervised a Gang Enforcement Unit and Patrol Sergeant. He spent 24 years as a Homicide Detective and was assigned to LAPD’s Robbery-Homicide Division for over 20 years, where his last assignment was as a supervisor of the Gang Homicide Unit. Over the course of his career, he worked several high profile/media intensive murder cases including the death of active-duty law enforcement and officer involved shooting.

Mr. Jenks primarily organized and managed large-scale State and Federal Gang Conspiracy Murder cases including Racketeering Influenced & Corrupt Organization (RICO) and Continuing Criminal Enterprise (CCE) cases involving multiple crimes and ongoing illicit narcotics importation and distribution resulting in multiple arrests, seizures and successful convictions.

Mr. Jenks was a subject matter expert on Detective Function Policy and Procedure for the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office in defense of civil actions against the City. Mr. Jenks is a subject matter expert in all aspects of law enforcement investigation functions.
